Dandy Profile: Ludget Delcy

 
Since the shop site launched two and a half years ago we have been introduced to hundreds of stylish guys who embrace their "inner-dandy". With this post we continue a regular series of dandy profiles, featuring Ludget Delcy, with photos by Rose Callahan.


 
 
Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Brooklyn and spent most of my childhood in Sheepshead Bay.

Where do you live now? I currently live in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
 
Where did you go to school? I went to Sheepshead Bay High School, then attended York College, but now I take classes at City Tech.
 
What’s your occupation? Street style photographer and fashion blogger. 
 
When did you establish your personal style? My mother started me off at a young age and eventually I took over.
 
Was there a pivotal moment? The first day of school. I remember shopping during the summer and preparing outfits for the first few weeks of school.
 
How has your style changed? The idea remains the the same but now it's for fashion week, charity events, etc...
 
How would you describe your style? As a juxtaposition between traditional and modern trends.
 
What are your sources of inspiration? The European culture, menswear magazines and books, old Hollywood movies to list a few. 
 
Who are your style icon?s Jean-Michel Basquiat, Steven McQueen, Cristóbal Balenciaga.
 
What are your preferred dandy reading materials? ABC of Men's Fashion because it's witty and informative. 
 
Do you have a favorite website? I follow NYTimes.com for current events.
 
What is your favorite personal item (non-clothing/accessories)? Mac Book Pro hands down.
 
What is your favorite clothing article or accessory? Shoes, because I once heard you can judge a man by his shoes. 
 
Where is your favorite or dream vacation spot? Japan because it looks like wherever we're headed they're already there.
 
Tell us the best kept secret in your city. Eating at Nice Pizza and then going next door for drinks and dancing at Sweet Revenge. The best part is not having to leave my neighborhood.
 
At which establishments would you consider yourself a regular? Opening Ceremony, Oden, Seven Mercer, and Uniqlo.
 
What would you be doing ten years from now? It's hard to say but hopefully shooting major advertising campaigns. 
 
What is your current obsession? iPad2.
 
Currently inspired by? The documentary Bill Cunningham New York .
 
Currently annoyed with? Women's trends on Men.
