Dandies In Print: The New York Times
Bill Cunningham has a fantastic pictorial in today's New York Times featuring dapper gentlemen. "The men's wear being worn in New York is sending early signals that the era of dressing down is over." Agreed! Also, there is a photo-video narrated by Cunningham himself on the Times website. Oh, and he also happened to catch yours truly (4th from left, top row and 2:52 in the video). Finest Dandy Of February
Last month when I posted Ray Frensham's picks for the 15 stylish men of the moment, several commenters suggested that we left some obvious choices off the list. That inspired me to have a monthly community-based feature where we can nominate and choose a stylish guy of the month. On the last Tuesday of each month our Facebook friends can "nominate" someone for the Finest Dandy Of ________ (the given month). To nominate simply post a photo of your nominee on our Facebook wall with a line or two about him and why you're nominating him. Self nominations are fine. The voting process will be based on the number of comments from unique commenters each nominee receives (if a commenter makes 8 comments, that only counts as one vote). The next day we'll post the results on Facebook and the blog.

Haberdashery Finds: Collar Box
It's no secret that I spend way too much time on ebay. This recent purchase is wooden box with fish on the cover (random) intended for removable collar storage. As pictured, the inner lid indicates that it is from S.W.H. Ward's Sons, Manufacturers Of Argosy Cloth Faced Collars & Cuffs, based in NYC. Two collars were included, one an Arrow and the other Van Heusen. Presumably these two collars were merely stored in the box and that the box was purchased with collars from S.W.H. Ward's. Not bad, eh?

Dandies Online: The Dandy Portraits By Rose Callahan
Rose Callahan contacted us just over a year ago. She had stumbled upon our shop site and blog and thought we might want to collaborate. Rose is a portrait photographer and has been shooting dandies with the eventual goal of a book or gallery show. We immediately clicked and agreed that she would shoot the gentleman living in NYC for our New School Dandy Profiles. In December Rose started posting some of the dandy photos on a dedicated blog: The Dandy Portraits. Below are some highlights. Of course we couldn't be more excited about this project. Any book publishers or gallery curators out there?
