There is a great article in The Times today about the garment district of New York City. It's hard to believe that at one time it was responsible for nearly 90% of all clothing manufactured in the United States. Although much of the industry is now overseas, the garment district still thrives today, though perhaps on a smaller scale. We've been thrilled that several of our items are made locally in the garment district: handkerchiefs, ties, many of our bow ties.
